On July 22, 2014 Noi Bai International airport launched sleep-box at the 3rd floor of T1 terminal hall, services for passengers who want to rest while waiting for the flight.

Each sleep pod is 4m2 and 3m high, equipped with a bed, wardrobe, blanket, pillow, clothes hangers and alarm clock. Passengers are also served free drinks, snacks, and wifi service.

There are 14 sleep-boxes, including 03 single boxes and 11 double boxes. The service provider has listed the prices as VND210,000 ($10) for the first three hours for a single room and VND252,000 ($13) for a double room. The prices for the next three hours are VND180,000-VND215,000.

When the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) inspected the service and suspended operations because it did not comply with existing regulations. They are located in the area dedicated to offices and airlines, which are isolated from the zone for aviation procedures on the 1st and 2nd floors. They do not occupy space for passengers.

However, the service take advantage of cancelled and delayed flights because no hotel in the Noi Bai airport to serve transit passengers aslo.

At the end of September, after having the report from Noi Bai airport, The CAAV approved to resume this service.
