Luang Prabang Residence was built on a part of royal land property, owned by prince Sisouphanh, who was the younger brother of King Khamsouk or Sakarine (1889-1904). Prince Sisouphanh lived at the royal home (over 150 years old), next to Luang Prabang Residence. Today, it is a national heritage house.
Luang Prabang Residence is located in a quiet setting in the heart of the ancient capital, yet only 15 minutes by car from the Luang Prabang airport and a few minutes drive to the boat pier on the Mekong. It is just steps away from the best restaurants and boutiques in town as well as the historical sites for which this town is famous.
